DYCR, aka Delroy Chandler is Jamaica’s loudest mouthpiece, belting out lyrics of brimstone and “Fire”. His powerful voice thunders out word-sounds that echo resoundingly in this land and beyond. He is the ultimate wordsmith, using words to create double meanings and metaphors that are not only humorous, but force the avid listener to ponder the serious undertones lining his word sounds. When DYCR is on stage he commands an aura that reminds us of Mikey Smith, Oku Onuora and Mutabaruka all in one powerful sound. His most successful works to date includes “Fire” which created an infectious burning in the dancehalls that propelled it to number ten on the local charts. He subsequently went on to do his next single “Sucker” on the Pot of Gold label. Other songs such as “Dem Man Deh,” “Smikle,” “The Barber,” “Misunderstanding” and “Delroy” followed in quick succession; all of which did well both locally and internationally.

His first CD “Delroy” on the Tad’s Record label introduced him to the world at large. This new project by DYCR is chock full of his latest hits including the single “The Barber”. DYCR has traveled to The United States to perform and currently has plans to blaze his way around the world. DYCR is truly coming of age and he is already a force to be reckoned with. He is truly a very talented individual.
